All instruments that penetrate tissue or bone need to be properly packed for sterilization. You can sterilize instruments either in autoclave or hot-air sterilizer. Autoclaving is highly recommended.

 

Store instruments in cassettes as prepared procedure sets. To simplify the logistics you can identify sets and individual instruments by code buttons and colour rings so that right instruments find their way back to the right dentist or hygienist.
